Of Course Abraham Lincoln was the Tallest President

This shouldn’t come as a big surprise, but Abraham Lincoln has been the tallest President of the United States. He barely beat out LBJ at 6 feet and 4 inches. He was the 16th President and was in office from March 4, 1861, until April 15, 1865, when he was assassinated by John Wilkes Booth. Lincoln’s vice president was Hannibal Hamlin for his first term and then Andrew Johnson for the brief period that was his second term.

Often heralded as one of the greatest Presidents of the United States, Lincoln led the country during the tumultuous time that was the American Civil War. Of course, Lincoln is most famous for abolishing slavery across the nation. One of the steps taken to abolish slavery was the Emancipation Proclamation which automatically freed any Confederate slave that was able to escape to the North. Sadly, Lincoln would not live to see the adoption of the 13th Amendment to the United States Constitution which 100% abolished slavery in the country.

Before he served as President, Lincoln served for 2 years as a member of the House of Representatives for the 7th district of Illinois. During this time, he was part of the Whig Party and worked with Joshua R. Giddings to create a bill that would’ve abolished slavery in the District of Columbia had it passed.

Also, it should be noted that he was not actually a vampire hunter.
